★ NOTES ★
HOW TO MAKE, OYAKODON. With guest Cook jyuusankaidan
http://www.youtube.com/jyuusankaidan
Oyakodon 親子丼
This means parents and children. It gets its name from the fact that Chicken is the parents, and Egg is the children.
INGREDIENTS
Eggs (3-4)
Chicken - Any type is ok
Onion - green or white is ok
MITSUBA 三つ葉- A Japanese plant used in Japanese cooking, if you don't have, a little parsley will do fine.
DASHI - dashi is Japanese soup stock. It is common in a lot of types of cooking. There are different ways to make it, but it contains either KONBU (type of seat weed) or Katsuo bushi (dryed fish flakes) or both. Theres also dashi made from other types of dried fish.
If you can't make dashi, you can use fish stock soup.
Another thing Japanese people may use is called TSUYU. It comes in a bottle.
At the end of the video you may notice I put raw egg on top. This is common in Japan to eat raw egg, its 100% safe, don't worry.
